USA-NKF Welcomes New Members to Committees

Colorado Springs, CO - April 5, 2024 - USA Karate is pleased to announce the addition of esteemed members to its Technical and Coaches Committees, further enhancing the organization's commitment to excellence and development within the sport.

The Technical Committee, essential for ensuring the highest standards in karate practice and competition, welcomes Cleveland Baxter of New York as its new Chairperson. Baxter brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, having dedicated years to the advancement of karate both as a practitioner and leader. Joining him are Jesus Costa of Florida, Ray Hughes of Arizona, and athlete representative Chris Jarrett of West Virginia. 

In the Coaches Committee, USA-NKF is proud to appoint Hiroshi Allen of Nevada as the new Chairperson. Allen's passion for karate and proven coaching skills make him an invaluable addition to the committee. He will be joined by Brian Mertel of Illinois, Christina Muccini of New York, Miguel Ochoa of Florida, and athlete representatives Adrian Galvan of Texas and Christy Dey of New York.

Furthermore, the Board has approved Mr. Cedric Barksdale to join the Referee Committee as its Operations member, enhancing the committee's capacity to oversee fair and efficient officiating during competitions.

"These appointments reflect USA-NKF's ongoing dedication to fostering excellence and inclusivity within our organization,” said Elisa Au, President of USA Karate. "We are confident that the collective expertise and passion of our new committee members will propel us towards even greater achievements in the world of karate."
